Imaginary Africa explores cello’s capabilities in an african-inspired, though original, music. With the help of some electronic devices, violoncello wides its expression range, resembles a guitar, a bass, a set of percussions, or even a kora or an oud. A mixture of jazz, funky, afrobeat, arab and minimalist music that calls back to Africa, imagined by an instrument which, out of its natural musical “habitat”, faces techniques and styles that do not belong to it.
