Staatsoper für alle: Free tickets in August
For the first time in the history of the popular open-air concert "Staatsoper für alle" (Staatsoper for everyone), visitors must book tickets in advance. Due to the Corona regulations, only 2,000 people are allowed to be at Bebelplatz at any one time.
Conductor Daniel Barenboim
Due to the Covid-19 requirements for large events, this year's open-air event will take place with limited seating capacity. Therefore access is only possible with tickets. On the occasion of the 450th anniversary of the Staatskapelle Berlin as well as the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's birth, the Piano Concerto No. 2 with pianist Lang Lang, as well as the 9th Symphony, with the "Ode to Joy", with Julia Kleiter, Waltraud Meier, Andreas Schager and René Pape as vocal soloists and the State Opera Choir, will be performed.
"Thank you" to the helpers of the Corona crisis
The concert is primarily dedicated to thanking those people who, through their work in systemically relevant areas, provide significant support to society - from healthcare to retail and logistics. For this group of people, a contingent of tickets is available in advance. The remaining tickets can be booked from 20 August 2020 on the website of the Staatsoper
. The concert will then take place on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 7 pm on Bebelplatz in Mitte
